People often ask us why “Bedupako.com” ; why not something else?
We only say “why settle for anyting lesser than the best 
”. Bedupako Baarmaasa is a widely acclaimed Uttarakhandi song equally popular in Kumaon as well as Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand. Thus, when we thought of an internet portal to pay tribute to Uttarakhand folk & folk artists “bedupako” emerged as the first choice. Thankfully, the domain was still available and hence “Bedupako.com”.
As most of us would already know and might have read over the world wide web; BeduPako is an Uttarakhandi folk tune which was conceptualized and written by late Brijendra Lal Shah. It was first composed by Late Mohan Upreti and B M Shah and till date has come out in innumerable versions seen and heard by Uttarakhandis across the Globe. It was played on stage for the first time in 1952 at GIC, Nainital. The song became popular when it was sung and played in Teen Murti Bhavan in honour of an international gathering. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru chose this song as the best of folks among other participants from India and Mohan Da, became BEDU PAKO BOY.
