(Review of ‘Daraibar ’ a short story (story written by Rakesh M. Thapliyal )
Review by: Bhishma Kukreti (Literature Historian)
Daraiber story is third story from story collection Meru Pahar ‘by story teller Rakesh Mohan Thapliyal. The ‘Daraiber’ story is very simple story about daily life of drivers of truck and buses from Hills of Uttarakhand. The story is twist less and simple. Yugvani editor Sanjay Kothiyal rightly appreciates Thapliyal that he was able for depicting real life of drivers, conductors driving truck and buses in Hills of Uttarakhand.
The story has dialogues but as Thapliyal’s style there are no inverted comas or separation methods showing dialogues. The language is from Tehri Garhwal and easily under stable. It is difficult for story teller to make a twist leaas story attractive but Rakesh Thapliyal has been susccsful in making the story attractive.
