Lieutenant Vidyadhar Juyal (son of Diwan Chakradhar Juyal) was with the Thirteenth Frontier Force dominated by Pathan Soldiers . Lieutenant Vidyadhar Juyal learnt Pashto language for communicating with Pathan Soldiers. He was in Waziristan for some time. Later on, British Army sent his battalion to African Front in 1940. Vidyadhar Juyal was in Sudan, Eretria, Abyssinia and Italy war fronts. In all three attacks, Vidyadhar proved to be an intelligent commander and a wise strategist Vidyadhar Juyal was present in the ahistorical attack of Amba Alagi (Africa) that witnessed the decline of Italian rule. British army awarded the Lieutenant Vidyadhar Juyal by ‘Distinguished Service Order (DSO) 2nd and highest Award after Victoria Cross in British Army.
